Grandmother and fashionista Candace Cima, 76, came under fire recently for posting a picture of herself wearing a sleeveless outfit on social media.
She tells TODAY that, although this isn’t the first time it’s happened, this one startled her. There has to be a shift in the antiquated ideas people have about age-appropriate clothing. In 2019 Cima started her fashion blog to close a gap in the market for older women’s representation in fashion. She promotes accepting aging with confidence.
“It’s perfectly appropriate to have wrinkled skin at 76, and I’m not ashamed of it,” she says, dispelling the myths about what older women should wear. Young and old, she makes it quite evident that she believes that aging is wonderful.
